Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Engineer Checklist
- Carrying out a visual inspection to ensure that there are no visible signs of damage.
- Checking the locking pin is intact and the tamper indicators and seals are unbroken to ensure that the extinguisher has not been tampered with.
- Taking a pressure gauge reading to ensure that the extinguisher has the correct pressure to discharge its full contents.
- Check that the operating instructions are legible, clean and facing outwards.
- Removing the discharge hose to check for blockages or corrosion.
- Weigh and clean the extinguisher.
- Ensure that the extinguisher is sited in its correct location wall mountings are secure.
