• Make sure that you install security measures such as CCTV, alarms and extra locks.
• Leave on outdoor security lights. A house in the dark could appeal to a burglar as it looks like nobody is in the property.
• If you go on holiday or away for the weekend, ask a trusted neighbour or friend to maintain anything that could be an advertisement for burglars, especially a full letterbox or left out wheelie bins.
